On Tuesday, June 12 Sustain Ward 3 is sponsoring the Safety On Summit Town Hall.
This meeting will be an opportunity for anybody to come and share their experiences along Summit Avenue as a bicyclist or pedestrian. There will be a brief presentation at the beginning of the meeting outlining the current state of Summit Ave and some of the factors that make Summit not only the most used bike lane in Saint Paul but also why it isn’t good enough.
The Safety On Summit campaign aims to improve the current configuration of Summit as well as its crossings at intersections so that bicyclists, pedestrians and cars can co-exist with a feeling of safety for all.
To this end, we have started a petition to the City Council to improve bike lanes along the corridor as well as implement better crossing signals and indicators at major intersections – particularly Snelling and Summit.
