At the Jan. 26, 2021 member meeting, Sustain Saint Paul will hold elections for its board of directors. If you are excited about our organizational mission, live in Saint Paul and share Sustain Saint Paul’s purpose, we hope you’ll consider running to join our organizational leadership.
We are also looking for diverse leadership: people of various racial and gender identities, and people who reside in different neighborhoods of the city. Our by-laws currently require that the board include members from at least four different community council districts, and at least two genders, but we aspire to greater diversity than that. We need a wide range of lived expertise and perspectives to be a strong and healthy organization.
Board members serve staggered two-year terms, and are expected to attend monthly board meetings and general membership meetings. In the coming year, our board aspires to do much more than arrange monthly member meetings. We have ambitions to expand our membership, craft a narrative about sustainable land use for our city, and advance a city policy agenda around zoning reform and low-carbon transit in partnership with like-minded groups.
If you’re excited about that vision, please consider running for board membership. Simply show up to our January member meeting, and be prepared to say a few words about yourself and why you’re running.
