At its annual meeting on Tuesday, May 25, the members of Sustain Saint Paul voted to approve the addition of Melissa Wenzel to serve on the organization’s Board of Directors.
Melissa lives in the Highwood Hills neighborhood, south of Battle Creek. She enjoys volunteering for city, county and regional opportunities, including the Ramsey County Parks and Rec Commission, a community council board member, and the city’s new Climate Justice Advisory Board.
Less than two years after the organization known as Sustain Ward 3 expanded citywide and renamed itself Sustain Saint Paul, the Board of Directors now has representatives from five of Saint Paul’s seven wards, and eight of Saint Paul’s 17 neighborhood districts.
Seeking diverse leadership
The board still has vacant seats, and it’s looking to fill them with diverse leadership: people of various racial and gender identities, and especially people who reside in wards 2, 5, and 6. We need a wide range of lived expertise and perspectives to be a strong and healthy organization.
