Luke Hanson Ward 3

Luke moved to Saint Paul in 2017, where he lived in a one-bedroom apartment on Grand Avenue for four years. He and his wife Jessa now live in a single-family home in the Highland neighborhood, and hope to eventually build an Accessory Dwelling Unit in their backyard. They enjoy shopping at great local businesses, dining at local restaurants, and exploring parks and bike routes in Saint Paul and the surrounding area.

Luke works as a fundraiser for Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota. In addition to his board service with Sustain Saint Paul, he volunteers his time at St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church and with local and state political campaigns.

His interests include urban design, cooperative economics, and community wealth-building. He enjoys cooking, playing his cello, and exploring neighborhoods on bike and by foot. During the summer of 2020, Luke biked nearly every residential street in the city of Saint Paul, logging about 1,000 miles.
