Rebecca Nelson Ward 5

As a member of a variety of organizations in East St Paul, I have a vested interest in everything that Sustain St Paul is working on, especially housing and sustainable land use. I feel the need to do everything I can to save the environment for future generations. I believe my greatest strength is my ability to connect with other people and network to bring people together. I am the Board Chair of District 5 & District 4, I am on the Land Use & Transportation committee for D4. I am a member of the Metro Gold Line Advisory Committee, Board Chair of the American Indian Family Center, Secretary of ESNDC, and am a Board member of PABA. I work at a non-profit called East Side Elders where our mission is to keep Seniors in theirs homes for as long as it is safe for them to be there. I am on the Sustainability workgroup at Hillcrest. I am involved with LPCP and the Hamm's Brewery work group, and many of these organizations have provided me with lots of experience in housing, zoning, transportation and sustainability. By continuing the work that I am doing, and working with these groups, I feel confident that St Paul, and especially the East Side, has a great future to look forward to!
