Improving Summit Avenue for bicyclists and pedestrians

Reconstruction is an opportunity for improved safety

It’s time: Part of Summit Avenue is getting the full treatment in 2023 - reconstruction all the way down to the sewer lines. Why not use the chance to greatly improve safety?

The City of Saint Paul is developing a master plan for the full length of Summit Avenue from the Mississippi River near the University of St. Thomas to downtown St. Paul. The section from Lexington Avenue to Victoria Street is slated for full reconstruction in 2023.

Sustain Saint Paul strongly supports safety and usability upgrades across the entirety of Summit Avenue, including traffic calming and grade-separated bike paths.

As the City engages community members on the Summit master plan, make your voice heard so that the reconstructed Summit Avenue design prioritizes low-carbon transportation and safety of all users.
