Defending the Minneapolis 2040 plan
In June 2022, a Hennepin County district court judge halted the implementation of Minneapolis’ groundbreaking 2040 Comprehensive Plan, which enabled more multi-family housing options throughout the city. At the invitation of Neighbors for More Neighbors and some pro bono attorneys, Sustain St. Paul helped prepare an amicus brief to support the City of Minneapolis’ appeal.

Support elimination of petition requirements for new housing projects
St. Paul’s planning staff are proposing to eliminate petition requirements for housing developers to apply for permits from the city. These petition requirements make it more difficult to develop housing because they enable nearby neighbors to effectively block projects. Please join us in publicly voicing your support of these proposed changes to the Planning Commission!
